Presented during our annual conference, SCCTE offers a variety of recognition for educators, administrators, and instructional support who demonstrate excellence in their approach to English language arts instruction for South Carolina students. Please see the categories below and consider how you can recognize members in your school or district.*

One person will be recognized for each award; no person is eligible for multiple awards in the same year.

Rising Rookie award
  • PURPOSE: To recognize and celebrate new members of SCCTE.

  • WHO IS ELIGIBLE: SCCTE and NCTE members who have been English language arts educators for no more than 5 years.

  • DETAILS: Recipient to be chosen based on their professional accomplishments and engagement in the field of English language arts and their demonstrated potential for professional growth and leadership.

  • PURPOSE: To recognize and celebrate veteran educator members of SCCTE.

  • WHO IS ELIGIBLE: SCCTE and NCTE members who are veteran (5+ years) English language arts educators.

  • DETAILS: Recipient to be chosen based on their professional accomplishments and engagement in the English language arts classroom, demonstrating their outstanding service to the profession.

  • PURPOSE: To recognize and celebrate support personnel.

  • WHO IS ELIGIBLE: SCCTE and NCTE members who serve as media specialists, literacy coaches, lead teachers, or instructional coaches.

  • DETAILS: Recipient to be chosen based on their outstanding support and innovation for English language arts educators.

 

 

 

 

OutstandingAdmin.png
  • PURPOSE: To recognize and celebrate administrator and district personnel.

  • WHO IS ELIGIBLE: SCCTE and NCTE members who support English language arts educators in the role of principal, assistant principal, or district-level specialist.

  • DETAILS: Recipient to be chosen based on their outstanding support and innovation for English language arts educators

SecondaryTeacher.png
  • PURPOSE: To recognize and celebrate veteran educator members of SCCTE.

  • WHO IS ELIGIBLE: SCCTE and NCTE members who are veteran (5+ years) secondary English language arts educators.

  • DETAILS: Recipient to be chosen based on their professional accomplishments and engagement in the English language arts classroom, demonstrating their outstanding service to the profession. 

  • Recipients of this award are also recognized at the annual NCTE conference.

BestTheme.png
  • PURPOSE: To recognize presenters who embody the annual conference theme within their proposal and presentation.

  • WHO IS ELIGIBLE: SCCTE and NCTE members who present at the annual conference.

  • DETAILS: Recipient(s) to be chosen based on their proposal and presentation.
